Biography



Terry has been working as an editor in film and television for over thirty years. Among his commercial editorial accomplishments are award winning campaigns for US Healthcare - Cannes Gold Lion winner, Budweiser - Best Campaign/Gold Award, 2nd Annual Hispanic Creative Awards, E-Minutes - Bronze Plaque 41st Annual Columbus International Film and Video Festival, and a Telly Award for The Ad Council's President's Initiative on Racism spots.


He edited the controversial PSA campaign "Respect Yourself, Protect Yourself" for Ogilvy Adams & Rinehart, where as Creative Director he produced the style and signature of the campaign, winning the CIPRA Award for Excellence as well as a Finalist in the London International Advertising Awards.


"I love editing all kinds of projects and have a strong belief in an editor's ability to cut any style film or program, as long as the editorial style is developed directly from the concept. That's why I approach each project with a fresh eye and an open mind."


This type of attitude along with his long-term experience has allowed Terry to cross back and forth between editing commercials and long format projects.


His long form credits include the Palm d’Or award winning film COFFEE AND CIGARETTES (Somewhere in California), directed by Jim Jarmusch, as well as Television Shows for Fox TV, MTV, TLC, VH1, HBO, Animal Planet, AMC, TNN, Nickelodeon, Bravo and The History Cannel.

Terry’s corporate registrar includes projects for Exxon Mobil, Pepsi, Pfizer, Loral Sky Network, McDonalds, MetLife and Shearing-Plough.


Terry’s post-production experience includes his apprenticeship at The Gray Film Atelier, 4 years editing documentaries at Aegis Productions, 10 years editing commercials for First Edition/CF, Morty's Film Service, Rhinoceros Editorial. In 1992 Terry founded The Pi Edit Company in New York City. After 7 years as principle editor and COO he now freelances.


Terry holds a Masters degree in Media, Culture and Communication from New York University as well as an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the New York Institute of Technology.


Terry edits on Avid Media Composers, Avid Express Pro, Avid Adrenaline and Final Cut Pro.
